Life in California

As my big move to NYC is approaching quickly, I can't help but think of all the things I will miss about life in California. From the beaches to the friends we've made, I'm sad to leave a lot behind, but definitely excited for new adventures in the Big Apple. I'm feeling a little down about leaving, so if anyone has any great NYC experiences, or places to go once I'm there, I'd love to hear them - it will definitely help cheer me up! ;) For now...a few of my favorite memories from our time in SoCal.

engagement at the beach
buying and renovating our first home together
 pool days
 shorts weather...every day
Leaving the back of my car open for 45 minutes while at whole foods, and everything still there when I came out - certain that wouldn't happen in NYC.
 on sunsets
anine bing's show room - stunning
 mexican food
 favorite mani/pedi spot
best friend moves to san diego
dinner on the harbor
a day at pelican hill with my lady Andee
afternoons at the beach
first california christmas in our first apartment
driving down PCH - never gets old
driving to the mall - with an ocean view
dinners on the January
UMAMI - so happy they just opened one in NYC
our stunning church
 beautiful Laguna
fresh fruit - all year
cheersin' ginger beers (although I'm sure NY has ginger beer)
 and our wedding

OH the please, cheer me up with New York hotspots ladies!! Happy weekend!

  1. So many great pics and SO bummed to see you guys go! But well see you in NYC!! muah! xoxo

  2. What a beautiful post! I'm sure you will miss so much about Cali :) but NYC should be awesome as well! And I am curious if you will ever share a post of your wedding :) I'm sure you looked stunning and I LOVE getting a view into people's weddings!

  3. 230 fifth rooftop is to die for in New York! The views are unbelievable!

  4. Such a pretty post! Makes me proud to be from SoCal. I have always wanted to live in NYC as well though. I'm sure you will love it just as much.

  5. I would feel the same way if my hubby + I moved out of Miami {sunshine withdrawl} but what an amazing new experience for you to share as a couple!! We travel to NYC often {we have family that live in the city} and always stay at the Crosby Street Hotel in Soho. They have a chill lounge/restaurant with unreal hamburgers + even better breakfast :)

  6. Awww! Cali is amazing!!! That is where my husband and my heart is for sure...our family is out there in SF, and we got married in Coronado. The good news is as long as you have your hubs and that precious baby girl, you will feel right at home no matter where you go! ;) NYC reminds me of our dating days. NYC and John Legend are the soundtrack and hotspot of our dating days bahaha! You will LOVE it and find it to be so romantic and creative there!! I will say a little prayer for you guys that your move goes smoothly and you will feel right at home!!

  7. Aww I felt the EXACT same way when we left LA -- it's such a hard place to leave! NYC is amazing though, and you will find so many new spots that will make it feel like home. Manis and pedis are SO inexpensive there, amazing food, weekend trips to Cape Cod, it'll feel like home before you know it.
