Hi lovers, hope your week is going well! We are in the middle of our big move, and things are crazy - our sofa wouldn't fit into the elevator, so we had to hire someone to saw it in half, and put it back together, but more on that later ;). Yesterday was our anniversary, and I've had a few requests to see more of my wedding, and thought today would be the perfect day to share it with you, enjoy!
Our wedding was at a private estate in California - someone actually lives here (totally jealous), it was my dream venue.
One of the best decisions (I think) was to have two dresses - one for the ceremony and one for the reception. I know it's not the most practical, but my ceremony dress was extremely uncomfortable and heavy, and my reception dress was quite the opposite - lightweight, and easy to dance in (essential).
I kept the decor fairly simple - I didn't want it to feel 'overdone.'
We had the ceremony in the rose garden, and the reception around the pool.
Instead of lighting a unity candle, we opted for 'unity wine,' anywhere I can sneak in a glass of Santa Margherita, I will ;).
I changed into my second dress before the father/daughter dance. Then it was time to partay ;).
Our band was amazing, they really made the reception such a party - we had SO much fun. I wish we could go back to that day and do it all over again. The best advice I have for brides-to-be is to not stress over the details - it will all come together in the end, and remember the real reason for the day...LOVE! xo
