Packing Light

Happy Halloween! Any fun plans this evening? Who's dressing up? I'm sure I'll throw together a last-minute costume for one party or another.
Here's a second outfit from my trip to Arizona, and you'll probably notice I'm wearing the same leggings and boots that I was in my post from Tuesday. One of the biggest things I strive for on short trips is packing light - planning outfits with items that can be worn more than once without being obvious. Especially when you are packing a large item like over-the-knee boots, this tip comes in very handy.

Thanks for all the sweet comments about my new hair - I cut off 7 inches, and am loving it. I also added some golden highlights, and am planning to add a few more next time.
I love this look - it's so simple, but makes such a statement, and I felt like it was perfect for AZ.
Have a happy and safe Halloween ladies!

Color Crush: Black

You can never have too much black. Above are a few favorites I wouldn't mind adding to my wardrobe! Happy hump day!

Painted Desert

I decided to take a quick trip to Arizona over the weekend - trying to soak up as much sun as I can before our big move (can't believe it's almost here!). Our flight is booked, our house is empty, and we're ready to go...or as ready as we'll ever be. Just a few more events in California this week before we head to the East Coast. Here's a look I wore yesterday for an afternoon of shopping in Scottsdale.
I've been searching for this Vince poncho for so long, and finally found my size on eBay - everywhere was sold out of a small. It's also on sale at Nordstrom (AND they just restocked the small, for much less than I paid on eBay, total bummer - but great for you!).
I posted this bag on instagram last week, and have had a lot of people ask about it. I found it at J. Crew and couldn't believe how great it looked for the price, so I had to get it - it's the perfect size for an everyday cross-body bag.
These boots are going to be my 'go to' pair all winter long - so in love with them. I'm off to the airport to catch my flight back to California! xx

Trip to Jacksonville

Happy Monday! I just got back from visiting my friend down in Jacksonville. After four days of cocktails, sun, and exploring the city I can hardly keep my eyes open today. Going to need A LOT of coffee.
Can't beat $2 drinks at the Lemon Bar

Life in California

As my big move to NYC is approaching quickly, I can't help but think of all the things I will miss about life in California. From the beaches to the friends we've made, I'm sad to leave a lot behind, but definitely excited for new adventures in the Big Apple. I'm feeling a little down about leaving, so if anyone has any great NYC experiences, or places to go once I'm there, I'd love to hear them - it will definitely help cheer me up! ;) For now...a few of my favorite memories from our time in SoCal.

engagement at the beach
buying and renovating our first home together
 pool days
 shorts weather...every day
Leaving the back of my car open for 45 minutes while at whole foods, and everything still there when I came out - certain that wouldn't happen in NYC.
