before - empty candle jar
spoon out excess wax
Hello ladies! Today, I'm switching things up a with a quick + easy DIY (the best kind). I'm obsessed with Diptyque candles, but hate to throw away the jars - I only made that mistake once. You've probably seen all the different uses for these (and other pretty candle jars) on Pinterest, and after admiring them for some time, I decided to give it a try. It's the perfect vase for fresh blooms - I love the way it looks on my dining table. Here are the steps (it only takes about 5 minutes).
1. Take empty Diptyque (or any candle) jar, and rinse it with hot water for a few minutes (to melt the wax that is left in the jar). Be careful not to get the label wet, or it will slide off.
2. Scoop out excess wax with a spoon (pictured above).
3. Clean the jar with a sponge and dish soap.
4. Dry it out, and voila! You've got a new vase, makeup brush holder, etc.
