Napa

Happy Hump Day ladies! Today, I'm sharing all about my trip to Napa - this was such a great trip, and I wish we could hop on a plane today and go back. It was our first trip sans babe, and it was bittersweet. We were so sad to say goodbye, but once we got to Napa, it was so relaxing, and FUN! I think if you have kids, a vacay (or even a date night) without the babe(s) is essential - it gives you time to reconnect, and have fun without any worries.

We stayed at Solage Calistoga, and it was really beautiful. We stayed at an Auberge resort on our honeymoon, and I'm always up for trying another spot under the Auberge name. Each room is it's own bungalow, so you're not hearing a bunch of doors shutting or any sound coming through the walls (which is the most annoying thing on a vacation, right?!). We visited the spa for a couples massage, which was so relaxing, and they have a pretty amazing mineral pool to use after you visit the spa. As far as exploring Napa, each room comes with two beach cruiser bikes (so cute), and they offer the use of a Mercedes (oh you fancy huh!) to get out and about free of charge - we only did this one day (not the best option if you're out wine tasting). Personally, I loved the bikes. Overall, I would love to go back to Solage Calistoga - it is definitely more of a relaxing spot than a party spot, so that's something to keep in mind if you're planning a trip to wine country.

I'm in love with this bag - it is the perfect size.

My favorite winery we visited was Nickel & Nickel - it's a small winery, and there's an amazing (love) story behind it. It was so sweet and charming unlike some of the larger name wineries. I'll admit, I was not as excited to go to this winery since I hadn't heard of it, and it ended up being my absolute favorite. We were lucky enough to have dinner in the barn, and it was one of the most memorable dinners of my life. If you go to Napa, I think visiting this Nickel & Nickel is an absolute must! Have a great day loves! XO

  2. What amazing pictures! I visited Napa last year and went to Duckhorn as well. Nickel + Nickel sounds amazing. I find that the smaller wineries seem to be more intimate and fun :)

    1. Ahhhhh yes, it was so relaxing hun! The camera I use is a Canon 7D with a 50mm lens, but it's a pretty pricey camera, and recommend a Canon Rebel t3i with a 50mm lens (you buy these separately) for someone wanting to get into it. The camera is much less, and the quality will be great! The lens is what really changes the photos! XO Hope this helps!
