Date Night: Buddakan NYC

Happy Monday, ladies! Hope you had a fabulous weekend! Saturday night was date night for my hubby and I, we went to Buddakan in the Meatpacking District. You may recognize it from Sex & The City - Big and Carrie's rehearsal dinner was here. We had been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time, and had heard great things - it did NOT disappoint. It's currently my favorite dining experience in NYC - a must if you are visiting, or if you live here. It's hard to get a reservation (we made ours a couple weeks in advance), so keep that in mind before you go.
The space is stunning and seemed to be never-ending. Our table was in the 'library' - we lucked out and got a private table with leather banquettes for the chairs - if you're used to dining with a party of 2 in NYC, you know how rare that is ;). Definite bonus points.
Cocktails: we started (and ended) the night with 'Benevolence' - watermelon + Thai basil, yes please.
Per our waiters suggestion, we shared a couple small plates and one entree. Appetizers: edamame dumplings and rock shrimp (both were so amazing, but the rock shrimp was my favorite).
Main course: sizzling short rib with mushroom chow fun and Asian pear. I would normally never order the short rib, but my hubby wanted to try it - OMG it was so good. No knife necessary - melt in your mouth amazingness. The noodles were the perfect side to the dish.
Of course we had to grab dessert - dark chocolate fondant with sour cherries and pistachio ice cream. It was definitely the way to end the night. I am already dying to go back. Have a great day!
