Life Changes

Happy Friday Eve, lovvvahs! Hope you are having an amazing week - it's been pretty gloomy and humid in NYC, but we've been staying busy as always. A few life changes happening around here lately, one of the biggest (and most exciting) being that we are moving...to a house! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am! As much as I love city living, it's just not for us right now. I big time admire families who raise their kids in Manhattan, but I have no idea how they do it! For me, it has been difficult. Not being able to go to the grocery store (this is probably different for different neighborhoods), having no car, and having to get on an elevator every time we want to step outside are a few of the main reasons I struggled. I want a yard. With space. Where we can grill, and our daughter can run around all summer long. And finally, after bidding on SIX separate homes, we got one! HA! If you haven't heard, the housing market (especially in cities) is insane right now. We were constantly in bidding wars (UHG - the dreaded words "multiple offers"), but we stuck it out, and finally found our house, and it happens to be our favorite - everything happens for a reason ;). I've been creating design boards for each room of the house, and wanted to share a couple of the bedrooms today - our daughter's "big girl" room, and the master bedroom.

Our daughter is currently in her crib, but pretty soon (probably end of summer), we will transition her to a bed. I want to keep her room girly (but not princess-y), fun, and functional. I don't want to be buying her a new bedroom set every 5 years, so I think choosing a bed that can hold up over time is key. I love mixing and matching bedding, and this combo is no exception.

When it comes to the master bedroom, compromise is key. I initially wanted a bed that was much more feminine, but my husband asked if we could tone it down a little, so we agreed on this one. I love a neutral bedroom - it has to feel calm, warm, and inviting. We've never had a "completed" bedroom - something is always missing, so I'm excited to get started (and finish) with this.
I'll be sure to keep you posted throughout the process, and share more of our home once we move (in July).
