Camden's 3 Month Update

A lot has changed since Camden's 2 month update. He is finally growing out of being colic and is SO much more enjoyable to be around. He is smiley and is staring to coo and laugh a lot. To all the momma's with colic babies - there is light at the end of the tunnel and it will pass!

Height/weight: Camden weighs about 13 pounds and is 26 inches long. His ped didn't tell us what percentile he's in at his last appointment, I'll be sure to ask at the next!

Sleep: He goes from 9:30-10ish until 5am which I am sooo not mad about! He'll take a bottle and fall back asleep for another 3 hours. We don't have to bounce or rock him to sleep, he is pretty good at self soothing! He recently started sleeping in his crib which went okay for the most part. He had a couple nights of waking up every two hours but luckily it wasn't too bad of a transition. Next up is getting rid of the swaddle, which I am really not looking forward to. Any tips for the transition?

Eating: He eats about 4.5-5 ounces every three hours or so. I'm still pumping but spread out my sessions. So instead of every 3 hours, it's every 5-6 and no more middle of the night pumping (insert praise hands emoji here)! Now I do 7, 11, 4 and one before bed around 10 or 11. I feel like I have some freedom from my pump and can actually go out and do things (you can't get anything done in 3 hours!) which is soooo amazing. I was feeling pretty down about pumping and wanting to quit but this makes it so much better. My goal is 6 months and I'm feeling pretty good about it now! He does get some supplement bottles of earth's best organic formula if my supply is low. I have noticed it makes him a little constipated so I might try a different kind.

Clothing: His 0-3 are starting to get too small (I could cry packing up his newborn clothes!) and he's filling out his 3-6 onsies. I am excited about his fall wardrobe though, there's some cute stuff waiting to be worn :)

Other milestones:
-Follows mommy and daddy with his eyes when we walk around the room
-Loves his toys...he could be entertained by a colorful rattle all day
-Starting to hold onto everything (hair included). We have to be careful about laying blankets on him because he gets a hold and brings them straight to his face!
-Although he hates tummy time, his neck is getting really strong
-Went swimming in his grammies pool for the first time and LOVED it which was no surprise considering he would live in the bath if he could
-Cooing, laughing, and smiling...the cutest!
-He has already flown 9 times...can you say #jetsetter

  1. amazing! love his little bath that you can sit in the pool, where's it from? we've been doing Similac organic and advanced and so far he seems to be doing well on it -- no constipation. I was going to to try earths best but I fear the same problem. that's awesome that he's already sleeping for long stretches. when does that start happening? did you guys do any sleep training? Great post mama! XX

  2. My son just made 2 months today and I feel the same as you regarding pumping every three hours. Do you have any tips how you spread out your pumping sessions? I keep trying and suffer from clogged ducts...

    1. I slowly started spreading them out. First started doing every 4 hours and then every 5 hours. I felt engorged for a couple days but my body got used to it. Also lots of massaging to avoid clogged ducts!
