Our Winter Skincare Routines
Happy Friday, babes! Winter is the worst time of the year for skin – don’t you agree? It’s dry, chapped, and difficult to keep it looking radiant and keep that ‘glow.’ We’ve tested product after product, and today we are here to share our current skincare routines with you. These are the products we use on a daily basis, morning and night.
Brooke’s Morning Routine:
Cleanse: Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser. I have very sensitive + dry skin, so I’m always cautious when trying out new products, but as soon as I tried this cleanser I was hooked. It does not strip your skin of the natural oils or cause breakouts. It’s easy on the pocket book, and works so well – I’m really picky about anything I put on my skin (even Cetaphil irritates my skin), and I’ll be sticking with this for a long time.
Moisturize: I have not been happy with the moisturizer I’ve been using lately, so I decided to take the plunge and purchase La Mer Moisturizing Cream. This is definitely on the (extremely) pricey side, but I’ve heard so many great things about it, and Nordstrom has the best customer service, so I decided to try it out. I haven’t had enough time to use it and review it yet, but I will give you an update after 30 days of continual use. The sales girl who was helping me said to use it twice/day and it should last 6-8 months (I went with the 2oz jar).
Lip Balm: Before I start putting my makeup on for the day, I use this lip balm – I love the mint flavor, and it keeps my lips super moisturized. When I’m done with my makeup, I either put on a neutral MAC lipstick, or this gloss (one of my favorite glosses – so smooth). When I use the lip balm, my lips are not dry/flaky when I apply the lipstick (I gently wipe off the balm before applying lipstick).
Brooke’s Nightly Routine:
Cleanse: Same as above, but using my Clarisonic cleansing brush. I use this brush once/day at night – it leaves my skin feeling so fresh and clean after a long day. The thing I really love about my Clarisonic is that I don’t have to remove my makeup before cleansing my face – this removes all the dirt, grime, and makeup from the day. However, if I have a ‘full face’ of makeup (from a night out), I will cleanse the makeup off quickly first with the brush and a little cleanser, rinse the brush + my face, and begin the cleansing process after I’ve removed the makeup.
Midnight Recovery: I really like to use oils on my face, and this one is no exception! A lot of people are afraid to put oil on their face because they think “oil on face = oily/broken out skin,” but that is not the case (at least with my sensitive skin). This leaves my skin smooth, much less dry, and definitely helps with fine lines. If you have acne-prone skin or scarring, I have read this is a great product for you as well! A little bit goes a long way, this will last you a really long time.
Moisturize: I moisturize after using the Midnight Recovery if my skin is feeling extra dry, but a lot of nights the oil is enough.

Meggan’s Morning Routine:
Moisturize: The first thing I do is apply Kiehl’s Creme de Corp all over my body (I do this several times a day) I feel extra dry after I wake up. I use La Mer Moisturizing Creme on my face. This is definitely the best moisturizer I’ve tried. My skin reacts really well to it!
Primer: I use Laura Mercier ‘Radiance’ foundation primer. Brooke and I picked this up when we met with a LM consultant during fashion week. The radiance really makes my skin glow!
Meggan’s Nightly Routine:
Cleanse: I remove my makeup with make-up remover wipes then wash my face with the Clarisonic Mia.
Moisturize: Once again I apply the La Mer Creme to my face and neck (I could drink this stuff), lotion up, and put coconut oil on my belly!
Eye Repair: Like Brooke, I use Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery eye concentrate. I’ve been using this for a couple years now and haven’t looked back. It gives a brighter, firmer, more refreshed appearance.
Before Bed: I use Aveda Foot Relief and throw on a pair of socks. I got this as a sample and actually really like it. It’s thick, smells pleasant and it absorbs nicely.
