My hubs and I had our first date night out since having Avery, and it was bittersweet. Of course, I was feeling anxious about leaving our newborn and kept going back and forth as to whether or not we should bring her (newborns are simple to take to dinner compared to toddlers!), but decided to brave it and head out alone. I’m glad we did – date nights are so necessary, and even when you don’t feel like going, once you’re out and having a good time you realize how important it is. Especially for mamas who don’t get a ton of adult interaction throughout the week ;).
The weather in New York has finally started to warm up, but it’s still pretty chilly at night, so I threw on my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans
(this wash is now sold out – scored last year during the Shopbop sale
) and new oversized coat. I love this coat
– it’s perfect for early spring, fall, and winter, and you can’t beat the price tag! I had been searching for the perfect long, gray coat all winter, and finally found this one in March (of course!), but it will be perfect for fall and next winter. It’s a classic shape, so I’m not worried about getting tired of it before then. These pumps
are so comfortable – they are the only heels I could wear throughout my pregnancy, I’m waiting for them to be restocked in nude
. As much as I love this coat, I can’t wait for some serious warmth so I can completely ditch outerwear altogether! Anyone feel me?!
