Just a quick #tbt to last Thursday in NYC to celebrate our 4th anniversary. My hubs surprised me by taking the day off of work (which never happens), and planned a whole day in the city – it was such an unexpected and fun day!
First coffee, always coffee.
We went to The Peninsula for lunch & a spa day. If you’re ever in NY and looking for somewhere intimate to eat, be sure to check out their restaurant – it had great views of 5th Ave.
Seriously amazing burger, I could use one of these today… #yesplease
After our massages, we headed to the Baccarat hotel…I have to say I think this is the coolest hotel I’ve ever been to (we were only eating/drinking here so I didn’t see the rooms, but I can only imagine they are amazing). The decor was so awesome, photos don’t do it justice. The above photo is right when you walk in – it’s a light installation behind thousands of Baccarat drinking glasses – so creative!
If you’re visiting NYC, I would highly recommend stopping by this hotel just to check it out or grab a drink, it’s stunning. The drinks are delicious, however, super $$ even for New York (but they make up for the $$ with a heavy pour #yaaassss), and they are big drinks – I only had one the entire time we were at the bar.
We went to the restaurant at the same hotel for dinner, and I wish it was better…but it just wasn’t. The service was amazing, but the food was not :(. The only thing that was pretty good was the dessert. I’d recommend skipping the restaurant, but definitely check out the bar area!
And the best part about the day was getting home to these sweet little feet! It’s nice to get away from the babes sometimes, but by the end of the day I’m always dying to get home to them (any mamas feel me on this?!).
Our whole house is fighting the cold/flu bug right now, and Avery has bronchitis, so we’ve been in and out of the doctor’s office all week. Hoping we’re all better by the weekend! Happy Thursday babes! xx
