Camden + Mommy’s 6th Month Update

I can’t believe I had this little guy 6 months ago! It has gone so fast but at the same time it feels like it was just yesterday. These pictures are outtakes from our Christmas card (check snapchat to see the final product!) which turned out so cute!

Height/weight: 16.5 pounds and 27 inches

Sleep: finally sleeping through the night – YAY! I actually owe this to Brooke because she taught me the trick that started it. I was still giving him a bottle when he would wake-up in the middle of the night, so I started giving him water instead of milk so he would learn he wasn’t getting fed – it only took a week to train him! He sometimes wakes up for his paci but he falls right back asleep. We’ve been pushing up his bedtime, he goes to bed around 8/8:30 and wakes up around 7. He also gets two solid naps in during the day, each about 1-2 hours.

Eating: Drinking 7oz every three hours and we started baby food a couple weeks ago. He LOVES eating and opens his mouth real big when he see’s the spoon! So far he’s tried sweet potatoes, green beans, carrots, pears, and prunes.

Milestones:
-Sitting up on his own! Sometimes it’s only a few seconds but he’s getting there!
-Rolling all over the place
-Puts his paci in his mouth all by himself
-Laughs so much now. There is nothing better then hearing his giggles.
-Wants to grab onto EVERYTHING! He knocks my phone and drinks out of my hands all the time!
-Still no teeth, but tons of drool.
-He does so good when I drop him off at the gym daycare. They said he never cries (of course) and loves watching the kids run around.
-Everything goes straight to the mouth
-Has been on 22 flights…tomorrow will be his 23rd, LOL! He’s been to New York, Iowa, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota (can you tell we’re from the midwest?!), Texas, California, Turks & Caicos, and Cabo. #jetsetter

How mommy’s doing…
I finally feel like a pro…to the point where I’m even giving out baby advice to people, ha! I am SO much happier now that the colic has passed. I’m not going to lie, the days were long and sometimes I felt like I was going to go insannne. Crying baby + out of control hormones + being attached to the pump was not a fun mix! I stopped pumping a few weeks ago so he’s no longer getting breastmilk. It was bittersweet but I was happy I made it to my goal. Now he’s drinking Honest formula. It made him constipated at first but his stomach is better now. Oops I forgot this section is about mommy, not baby 😉 I go to the gym 4 or 5 days a week to get a little break and relieve some stress 😉 I’ve lost all the baby weight but still need to do some major toning. I post some of my workouts on snapchat so make sure to follow along.

My friend had her baby a month ago so now I have a mommy-friend to hang out with during the day! None of my best friends have kids yet (and won’t for a longgg time!) so it’s nice to have someone to talk to about how many poops your kid is taking a day and nap schedules, haha! #momlife I’ve noticed my hair is starting to fall out (two bald spots in the front, eeek!) and I have tons of baby hairs. My SIL warned me this was going to happen. Other then that I think my body is pretty much back to normal! Did anything weird happen to you post-baby?

It’s been a big change but I love being a mommy! All the hard days are worth it and Kyle is an amazing dad. If he knows it’s been a bad day he will come home from work and tell me to go get my nails done. He is a huge help! Can’t wait for another 6 months with my little boo!

and the bloopers…
