We’ve been working on our home since moving in over a year ago. It’s been so fun, and we’re about to begin the big projects – kitchen & bathrooms. I’m planning to share all the blood, sweat (and I’m sure tears) that are to come with those if you guys are interested in following along (please let me know!!).
Today, I’m sharing our fireplace before & after. It was my favorite home project to date, and while it wasn’t a massive renovation, it really updates the space.
This was the fireplace as it was right when we moved in. We painted all of the walls white (Benjamin Moore China White), and had built-in shelves installed.
After the shelves were installed – we also had them painted BM China White (they are not yet painted in this photo).
We ripped off the square tiles (including the forest motif) and mantel, then picked out a slab of slate, and had it cut for the surround and hearth. After the slate was complete, we had a custom mantel made by a local company. I showed them a few different inspiration photos, and we came up with the perfect combination of all the inspo pics. We had the mantle installed, and painted the same color as the walls (BM China White).
AFTER:
We added this mirror from Restoration Hardware above fireplace, and I’ve ordered this tool set & this log holder to add as well. For now, I have a PB basket + sheepskin as placeholders. I’m finishing up the shelves (still have a few more things to pick up) & once they are complete I’ll definitely share those with you as well! Hope you enjoyed this before & after! If you have any other questions, please let me know! PS – I did an interview & a mini home tour with E. Interiors on Monday, you can view it here! Happy hump day! xx
