Today’s post is highly requested & all about my eyebrows. I’ve never had great brows…they are very sparse, making my natural brows look essentially nonexistent. It wasn’t until college I discovered how important eyebrows actually are. They frame your face, and full brows give your face a fresh look. Since discovering that eyebrows are, in fact, important, I’ve been filling them in using a pencil (
this is my absolute favorite), pomade (love
this one) with this
brush, and
powder. I thought this would be my life forever… then I discovered microblading. I was browsing instagram one day, and came across a before/after photo of a girl’s eyebrows and was in shock! How did they do that?! I quickly discovered that the eyebrows were tattooed on using a microblading technique (a fine blade is used to deposit pigment into the skin, mimicking hair). I knew right away I wanted to have it done, and started telling friends about it. Every time I would say, “I want to get my eyebrows tattooed on,” my friends would immediately respond, “NOOOOOOOOO! Don’t do that!” No matter how many times people would tell me not to, my mind was made up. I researched microblading & different salons that performed this technique for about 6 months before I finally decided to go through with it. I found two specialists (one in NYC and one outside of the city) that I felt did a great job, and ultimately decided to go to
Precision Spa. Nicole is great at what she does, and I’m so happy (finally) with my eyebrows. If you live in NY, NJ, or CT, she is definitely worth the trip! If I’m going out with a full face of makeup on the weekend, I still finish my brows with the products I listed above, but the best part is actually having eyebrows now! I don’t touch them during the week, and it’s so amazing not having to worry about filling them in every day. Even if I wasn’t wearing a lot of makeup, I felt like my face looked SO weird because my eyebrows were “clear,” – that’s how I referred to them. Now, I can drop my daughter off at school, go to the gym, and run errands without makeup and not have to worry if I look like
this (LOL!). My eyebrows are semi-permanent (which I wanted), so I will have to touch them up in a year or so. A lot of people are worried about the eyebrows not looking natural (and I was too), but you honestly can’t even tell…they just look like my eyebrows. I think the important thing is to do your research, and find someone who is extremely good (and has the portfolio to back it up!). Overall, it was certainly the right decision for me and I’m so happy with the way my brows turned out! Please let me know if you have any other questions I didn’t answer! xx
