1. How do you budget each season on how many trendy pieces to purchase? I feel like I’m on fringe overload!
Meggan: I don’t necessarily budget for trendy pieces but I usually only buy a few items each season and don’t spend a ton on them. Lace-up tops and dresses are huge right now so I bought this top and this dress. H&M and Forever21 always have cute trendy pieces and you don’t have to spend a ton. I would just try to keep it to a couple items for each trend so you aren’t on overload and have nothing to wear next season. And since fringe is such a statement piece, you could just do a pair or shoes or handbag and be set!
Brooke: I only buy trendier pieces if it’s something I love…not just because it’s in style right now. You have to be comfortable in what you’re wearing, and love what you purchase. I do like fringe, but I don’t have a ton of fringe pieces because it feels like such a statement piece. I think a good rule of thumb is no duplicate trend pieces (for example…one fringe shirt, one pair of fringe sandals, one fringe bag, etc), however if you’re not trying to limit the trend pieces and you love a particular trend, buy away & wear what makes you happy!

2. Do you have a favorite serum for your face?
Brooke: I don’t – I just received this one from TULA (which you know we love!), but haven’t tried it yet!
Meggan: I’ve been using the Tula serum and loveeeee it! I seriously love all their products, I’ve never been so happy with my skin.

3. How would you style knee-high cage sandals for summer?
Meggan: I think they look so cute with casual, flowy dresses like this or this. I have this dress and think they would work well with it too!
Brooke: I would wear them with a midi dress, or denim cutoffs for a more casual look. I love this look! I think the key is to keep the rest of your look minimal!

4. Do you shop for your men? I typically shop for my fiancé at Nordstrom, but am looking for other options as well and for resort wear.
Brooke: I don’t really shop for my husband, he does a great job of shopping for himself. His favorite stores are J. Crew, Nordstrom, and Barneys.
Meggan: I don’t do a lot of shopping for him but will occasionally look at Nordstrom or J.Crew. He is so tall it’s hard to know what’s going to fit him. His favorite brands are Gant and Billy Reid. And last year before our trip to Turks & Caicos we had good luck finding resort wear at Old Navy and Gap! They had the best linen pants!

5. Have you ever been to Denver? I’m moving there this summer and would love to know your favorite shops, restaurants, and places to go!
Brooke: I’ve been to Denver, but it’s been a few years, so I really don’t know the best places to go, sorry! I would try to find anyone in your network who may know someone currently living there and connect with them to get all the ins and outs! Denver is so gorgeous, have fun!
Meggan: I haven’t been there since my senior year of college. I couldn’t tell you one place we went but it was sooooo fun! Sorry I’m not much help 🙁

6. I love how you both style your hair with loose waves, what do you use to achieve that look?
Meggan: I use this 1.25 curling iron on my hair. I really like it because it doesn’t damage my hair. I left it at a friends one weekend and bought a crappy one to use until I got it back and OMG. My hair was frieddd after one use. Make sure you always use ceramic! I just got this one and haven’t used it yet but we will definitely be posting on it soon. It has amazing reviews!
Brooke: I use this wand to achieve my waves…I did a mini tutorial on snapchat a few weeks ago, and am working on a real tutorial now! I also just got this curling iron, and can’t wait to test it out!

7. Is there a specific protein powder you prefer? What vitamins (if any) do you take?
Meggan: I use Optimum Nutrition 100% whey protein powder. I was taking my prenatal vitamins until January and now I’m not taking any. Definitely need to start though!
Brooke: I personally love Isagenix protein powder, and have been using it since I did their 30-day cleanse 2 years ago (you can read about my cleanse here). I am embarrassed to say, I’m not taking any vitamins right now, but need to start…like today!

8. What are your current favorite pair of denim jeans?
Brooke: I have a few favorites I’m loving right now – this pair from AYR, and this pair from Henry & Belle. Both pairs fit extremely well, and hold their shape throughout the day. I’m on the hunt for a new pair of cropped jeans for spring & summer, and am in love with the look of these!
Meggan: These jeans have been on repeat lately. They are so comfortable (a little stretch but not too much, if ya know what I mean!) and I love the raw hem. And I’ve been wearing this pair a lot too – the length is perfect!

9. How do you and your men budget spending each month? Do you each have a certain amount you are “allowed” to spend, or how do you make it work?
I think this is something most couples struggle with when first combining bank accounts, but there are definitely ways to make it work so everyone feels it’s “fair.” When we were first married, my husband and I put together a budget, and discussed how much each of us wanted to spend on discretionary items monthly (clothes, dinners, coffee runs, makeup, etc). This helped us avoid unnecessary arguments because we were able to track our spending. This is a great step-by-step guide if you’re wondering where/how to start with your guy! Communication is key when it comes to budgeting/finances.

10. If you could splurge on one handbag & one pair of shoes for spring/summer, what would you choose?
Brooke: I’m obsessed with these sandals, and would love to splurge on them! There are so many bags I love right now (shocker!), but if I had to choose one to splurge on today it would be this one – it just looks like summer to me & comes in so many great colors!
Meggan: I’ve always wanted to splurge on the Isabel Marant Jaeryn sandals (can’t decide if I love black or brown more!). They are a classic and go with so much! And for a bag – I think this one is super cool for summer. So bohemian and big enough double as a diaper bag 😉
