1. What books are you currently reading? Any recommendations?
Meggan: I just started The Hypnotist’s Love Story the other night and on deck is What Alice Forgot. I love Liane Moriarty – all her books I’ve read have been SO good. I just finished reading It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover and absolutely loved it. I want to read more of her books!
Brooke: I just started Luckiest Girl Alive, and will read Me Before You next! I’ve heard that both are SO good. I looooved Girl On the Train (just saw the movie and was so disappointed, book was SO much better!), and I agree with Meggan – all the Liane Moriarty books are so good and easy to read.

2. What made you guys want to do the Whole30 diet? And what are the benefits? I’m trying to get in shape for my wedding too! T-minus 4 months 🙂
Meggan: I’m honestly doing it for the challenge and because I really need to get my butt in gear! I’m not usually one to follow a diet or cut out any food groups but Whole30 really teaches you to look at what you’re putting in your body, so I thought why not! I was having some major sweet cravings the other night and had a cup of peppermint tea and handful of blueberries instead of reaching for the dark chocolate (I need to get that out of my house lol!). It’s all about teaching your body how to kill those bad cravings. I know I’m going to have a couple “cheat” days – I’m going to the Red Hot Chili Peppers (my all time favorite band) this weekend and will definitely be having some cocktails and a good friend is coming to visit at the end of the month. Here is a great list of why you should try Whole30 if you are thinking about doing it!
Brooke: I got shingles & started our kitchen renovation right around the same time which turned into not working out & eating out for every meal. After our kitchen was finally done, I honestly felt like I had forgotten how to cook/was just out of the habit so we kept ordering takeout. After eating out (at least) 4 meals a week, and making one bad food decision after the other, I needed something drastic and so many of you (on snapchat) recommended Whole30. After looking into it, I decided it was exactly what I needed. 3 days in I’m SO happy we decided to do it! I’m planning to always be 80-90% dairy free (I’m sure I’ll have cheese from time to time – I love it!) because I’ve seen mayyyyjor improvements in my skin. I have been dairy free (for the most part) for about 3 weeks. The day before we went to AZ I had a regular latte, pizza, and tons of cheese and woke up the next day with an irritated/broken out chin! I really believe dairy and my body just don’t mix, and it hasn’t been as hard as I thought it would be.

3. How is it going with the collagen booster micro roller? I’m wanting to buy one, but wanted to hears some personal feedback first. Is it worthy?
I was using it for a time and absolutely loved it, but stopped when my skin started breaking out again because I don’t think it’s good to use over breakouts. Now that my skin is completely clear, I’m going to start using it again! I would recommend it! I think a lot of companies offer money back guarantees, so that would be something to look for.

4. Meggan – I love your fireplace mantel but how did you hide all the cords and TV boxes?
Thank you! We had an electrician wire everything through the ceiling to a closet in our office and we use an IR repeater system so we are able to hide the boxes. That was all my fiancé’s doing, not me 😉

5. Any suggestions on what to wear to a wedding in February?
This red maxi dress is gorgeous, this satin one is pretty, lovvvve this one (would need a shawl), and you can’t go wrong with this classic wrap dress.

6. I’m thinking about getting an LV Neverfull bag to replace my diaper bag, but I can’t decide on the Monogram or Damier. Do you guys have a preference in that bag?
Meggan: I personally love the monogram but you really can’t go wrong with either!
Brooke: Agreed – I love monogram, but my friend has the Damier and it’s really pretty as well!

7. What’s your go-to outfit for a night out (dinner with friends, a birthday party)? I’m looking for an outfit that isn’t too casual, but also isn’t fancy.
Meggan: When I’m out I usually wear a moto jacket (this one, size xs), bodysuit (this is my current favorite), high waisted jeans, belt, and booties (these are my favorite – so comfy). Casual with a little edge!
Brooke: I like to keep it pretty casual and a little edgy when I’m going out with friends. I usually wear a band tee (I wear this one non-stop) with a moto jacket or duster (we have and love this one in XS) with skinny jeans (just ordered these) and booties or heels.

8. Do you have any suggestions for walking in heels? I love the way they look but sometimes can’t get the stride right.
We don’t wear heels that often anymore and definitely understand the struggle 😉 We try to not buy heels that are too high (no matter how cute they are!) and having an ankle strap definitely helps. When walking, put your heel down first, followed by your toe and don’t take long strides. That should help!

9. I’m looking for a staple pair of black jeans. I’m struggling to find a pair that isn’t distressed (already have one) and also isn’t made out of really thin, stretchy material. Do you have any suggestions?
I (Brooke) have this pair and I seriously loooove them! They are a little more $$ than I usually spend on jeans, but I was in the same position as you so decided to try them & so happy I did! The denim is thick and they aren’t stretchy…I take them to the dry cleaner and they still look brand new 7 months later. I would definitely recommend them & they run true to size. You can see them on me in this post. Sometimes it’s best to buy once, cry once 😉 and this is one of those times!

10. I’m looking for vacation essentials! I’m going to Jamaica next month!
Ahh so fun! A few beach/pool essentials: this crotchet bikini, kaftan, sandalsbeach bag, fedora, and sunnies (want these so bad!). This dress would be perfect for a nice dinner or night out (might order it for my wedding week in Cabo!) and loving this romper!

11. Meggan – I’m having a destination wedding as well. Any recommendations for wedding attire for groom/groomsmen?
We aren’t 100% sure yet but I think Kyle will be the only one in a full suit and the groomsmen will just be in a white button down, slacks, and loafers (these). We are leaning toward navy or dark greyish-blue. I love how classic and simple this groom looks and also love this this heather grey color too! I’ve been looking at Cabo photographers websites to see what the grooms are wearing which has been great for finding ideas.

Have a great weekend ladies! Leave your questions below for next week or email them to us at brookeandmeggan@somewherelately.com with #coffeetalk in the subject! XO
