It’s the day after Christmas, but it feels like Christmas morning all over again because there is an exclusive sale happening on Skinceuticals products with code SKINC15.
CE Ferulic or Pholretin CF: A vitamin C serum that provides environmental protection, lightens lines, firms skin and brightens your complexion, a holy grail in our skincare drawer! Yes, it’s expensive because it works! This is why we always buy it when it’s on sale. If you suffer from acne or acne-prone skin, CE Ferulic is not the best fit for you. You will want to use Phloretin CF. This is something I never knew until my esthitician told me to switch from CE to Phloretin CF when I was dealing with hormonal acne earlier in the year. HOW TO USE: In the morning, under moisturizer.
H.A. Intensifier: Another must-have for us. Aka “filler in a bottle.” H.A. amplifies skin’s hyaluronic acid levels by 30%, reducing the look of crow’s feet, smile lines, and marionette lines (lines from the corners of the mouth down to chin) for smoother, firmer skin. Paraben- and dye-free, ideal for all skin types. HOW TO USE: Apply AM or PM (you can do either, or only PM). If you’re using in the morning, apply after CE/Phloretin CF. At night, apply after cleansing and toning before any other serums. If you use retinol at night, apply the retinol first, then the H.A. Intensifier.
LHA Toner: My favorite toner ever! I’m not using this right now because it’s not pregnancy safe, but I can’t wait to use it again after pregnancy. This toner is key to targeting aging skin prone to breakouts. The triple threat treatment is formulated with a low pH blend of lipo hydroxy acid (LHA), glycolic acid and salicylic acid to remove excess residue and dead skin cells while purifying clogged pores. Keeps my skin looking so clean and clear without feeling stripped. HOW TO USE: Once or twice daily after cleansing.
LHA Cleanser: I have yet to try this cleanser, but it has rave reviews, and it’s from the same line as my favorite toner. This cleanser would be more for acne-prone skin, it’s a deep-digging facial wash that penetrates your pores to decongest and offer cell-by-cell exfoliation, while washing away impurities. A combination of LHA, glycolic and salicylic acid encourage cell renewal resulting in more refined skin texture, even skin tone and a brighter appearance. HOW TO USE: Once or twice daily (you could alternate with a moisturizing cleanser).
Discoloration Defense: Skin brightening serum. Discoloration Defense is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of dark spots and discoloration on the face. HOW TO USE: We use this in the morning, after CE Ferulic.
Hydrating B5 Gel: This is on my to-buy list during this sale because everyone raves about it. So many people say it’s their number 1 holy grail product. Formulated with hyaluronic acid and tissue-repairing vitamin B5, it restores and binds moisture to the skin for enhanced radiance, suppleness and comfort. Ideal for use with vitamin C treatments, this formula maximizes the effects of your daily moisturizer, resulting in optimized results. Perfect for winter. HOW TO USE: 1-2 times daily, before moisturizer.
Phyto Corrective Gel: I love this hydrating gel when my face is having an acne flare-up or just needs to be soothed (I have sensitive skin and suffer from redness). This gel is a soothing moisturizing gel that hydrates, comforts and alleviates redness and sensitivity, it feels so good on the skin. HOW TO USE: As needed, apply to sensitive areas after cleansing and toning.
Triple Lipid Cream: I’ve only purchased this once, but it was ah-mazing and a wonderful product for aging skin. It is an anti-aging facial treatment with essential lipids that helps with facial fullness, uneven skintone, and fine lines. Yes please! HOW TO USE: Apply twice daily to face, neck, and chest. This would go on right before moisturizer.
A.G.E. Eye Complex: I’ve never tried this eye cream, but it’s on my list because it’s a cult favorite, and anything that is a Skinceuticals cult favorite has always been worth the splurge in my opinion! Optical diffusers instantly reduce the appearance of dark circles and capillaries while flavanoids and peptides work over time to dramatically improve dark circles and puffiness. Blueberry extract and proxylane moisturize, nourish and prevent future visible signs of aging while simultaneously boosting elasticity and skin thickness, thereby diminishing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet. Just added to my cart! HOW TO USE: Apply to eye area twice daily, before moisturizer.
Micro Exfoliating Scrub: I love a good facial scrub, and I just finished the one I had so I’m going to try this one and compare the two! This Micro-Exfoliating Scrub provides intense and even exfoliation without being harmful to delicate skin. HOW TO USE: 2-3 times/week.
