I think it’s fair to say the shacket was the biggest trend to come out of 2020 toward the very end of the year. It’s the outerwear piece none of us knew we needed that came out of nowhere and fulfilled so many of our retail needs! We first saw the shacket arrive on the scene at Nordstrom, which makes sense since Nordstrom is always one step ahead of the trends. We’ve fallen in love with so many different shackets since then, but this new buffalo check number by Madewell has all of my attention right now! I absolutely love the woodsy vibes of this shacket. It almost looks like you borrowed it off your husband, which makes it even cooler. Because it’s a merino wool mix, it keeps you super cozy in this awkward winter we’ve been experiencing! Plus, it’s super roomy so you can comfortably wear it over another thicker piece like a sweater or hoodie, no problem. No stiff arms or feeling like you can’t even move! I wore this look (head to toe Nordstrom, by the way!) with my favorite maternity skinny jeans and Reebok sneakers to grab an iced coffee last week and felt comfortable and cool. This buffalo check shacket can be paired with an endless combination of tops and bottoms, and I’ll be wearing it up until the first day of spring, I’m sure!
