Charleston Travel Guide

I went to Charleston with two of my best friends from college (we hadn’t seen each other in almost 3 years!) and we had SO much fun. There were so many places on our list that we didn’t have time for, which means we will just have to go back! We pretty much just ate and drank our way through the city. Here is what our schedule was:

Thursday:
+ Landed and went straight to our hotel, The Dewberry (more on that below!). We had lunch and cocktails on the rooftop which is called Citrus Club. Highly recommend the citrus salad with jerk chicken and the hibiscus mojito!

+ Got dropped off by Rainbow Row and walked around looking at all the amazing homes and waterfront.

+ Stopped in Bin 152 for wine and charcuterie – one of our favorite stops! We got a bottle of rosé and had the waiter put together a board with his favorites on it.

+ Dinner at FIG. I had to book this reservation exactly 1 month ahead at 11AM eastern and I still got an 8:15 reservation!

+ Went to Republic Garden & Lounge because we are Bravo junkies and heard they are filming a new show there. Sure enough, they were! We met Leva (from Southern Charm) and had to sign waivers because we chatted with cast members.

Friday:
+ Woke up and laid in bed without kids crawling on us (it was glorious)

+ Little Palm for lunch – so cute and loved the vibe!

+ Walked around and explored – stopped in Buxton Books which I loved and so many cool historical graveyards. We stopped for aperol spritzes at The Watch which is the rooftop at The Restoration Hotel.

+ Husk for drinks while we waited for our table at 167 Raw

+ 167 Raw for dinner (get there early to put your name in, they don’t take reservations. This was definitely the best meal of the trip! The king crab malfadine is a must!

Saturday:
+ Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit – I got the sausage egg & pimento cheese!

+ Basic Kitchen for lunch – we split the sweet potato fries, vegan nachos, cauli wings, and the vegan caesar. Everything was delicious!

+ While we were sitting at lunch we randomly decided to look at Craig from Southern Charms Insta. We saw on his stories that he would be at his store, Sewing Down South, from 1-3 for a meet & greet so we obviously had to go. He was so nice and friendly – literally chatted with us for a good 10 mins! That took up a big chunk of time (long wait) so we didn’t get to explore Mount Pleasant like planned. Next time!

+ Stopped in Hotel Bennett for a glass of champagne. They have a pretty champagne lounge, Camellias!

+ Leon’s Oyster Shop for an early dinner. Everyone said to try the fried chicken but we were so full from eating all weekend so we skipped it. The char-grilled oysters were amazing!

+ Ghost tour through Bulldog Tours. It was pretty interesting learning about the history, landmarks and ghosts!

Sunday:
+ Hit up the spa at the hotel before my flight – I got the 90 minute dewberry signature! It was amazing!

I was very impressed with The Dewberry! The staff was friendly and accommodating, has house cars for guests, a gorgeous spa, complimentary bicycles, and we loved the rooftop and lounge on the main floor! 10/10 recommend!
